My name is Elijah Chapman, and I am the owner of MO Accounting Solutions LLC. I hope to aide small-mid level businesses in what can be quite stressful - accounting reporting, systems, and compliance areas. I know from experience that many small-mid level businesses care about genuine relationship and engagement, which is why I only take a select number of clients - to ensure my time can be spent focused on the clients I cherish and aim to grow with.
My Story
My passion for accounting began in high school at Jefferson City High School, where I first discovered how much I enjoyed working with numbers and solving financial puzzles. I went on to earn dual degrees in Accounting and Finance from Illinois College, where I also served as a VITA tax volunteer and completed internships in bookkeeping, payroll, taxation, and nonprofit accounting.

One of the most influential experiences of my early career was working in what the industry calls “shoebox accounting.” That hands‑on work with small businesses gave me a deep appreciation for the challenges owners face and the financial complexities behind the scenes.

After graduating early, I completed my Master of Accountancy at Maryville University of Saint Louis, gaining advanced experience in consolidated financial statements, tax planning, governmental and nonprofit accounting, and financial decision‑making. During and after my program, I served as the Financial/Accounting Director at United Capital City Athletic, where I managed software integrations, complex bookkeeping, payroll and tax preparation, grant compliance, budgeting, and inventory oversight using systems like Toast POS.

I’ve continued expanding my expertise with certifications as a QuickBooks ProAdvisor, FreshBooks Certified Partner, Gusto Payroll Certified, Hubdoc Certified, and Bill.com Certified. I’m currently working toward Xero, Expensify, and Square POS certifications, and I plan to complete the Enrolled Agent process by the end of 2026.
